Frank started his career as a classical guitarist in the late ’80s. In 1990, he was selected to the European Youth Orchestra, representing Turkey, where he performed Vivaldi’s D major Guitar Concerto, as a soloist, in Germany and the Netherlands. Following his academic career as a lecturer at Uludag University, Faruk Ceviz moved to England in 1992 and began studying contemporary music with composer Sıdıka Özdil in London. He continued his further education in ‘Composition’ at Middlesex University and then started his career as a music producer in 1997. He collaborated with many artists and produced various Hip-hop, Pop and Rock singles at his North London studio. Faruk completed his master’s degree in ‘Composing for Film and TV’ at Kingston University in 2010. With his master's thesis titled “The Impact of Emerging Technologies on Composers”, he explored how composers' tools and technics are used on today’s film music production.
As a film music composer, he produced music for documentaries and commercials for TV channels (Channel 4, Channel Five and CNN ) in England and the USA. He also wrote soundtracks for short films that won international acclaim in London and New York. In Turkey, he composed and orchestrated music for Özcan Deniz’s “Ya Sonra” and Osman Sınav’s “Pars” movies. Additionally, he composed music for pop music artists such as Emre Altuğ, Taner, Sibel Can and Ogan Aydın in Turkey.
For the last ten years, Frank has gained expertise in Music Technology using Logic Pro X, Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio software and virtual orchestra. Believing that today’s composers need to be skilled in both sound engineering and music technology, he continues his career composing and producing music for film, documentary, TV and Library Music in London.
